Internet protocol and applications

IP - the acronym for Internet Protocol - is the communications methodology that enables different manufacturers' equipment and applications to send information between one another over either the public internet, or private corporate networks.

Every day personal and business applications are services such as email, internet access, pod casting, video conferencing, on-line auctions, banking and share dealing.

Each of these applications have different networking requirements. As an example, an eBay auction bid requires real time bidding and secure banking features, as well as massive scalability.

Each application, then, has its own specific requirements - security signalling requires message delivery confirmation, information encryption, line cut detection, message substitution protection and unique device identification. The WebWay 2424 system delivers all of this and more over any service providers IP network.
